C2, My thoughts exactly. It seems like he was trying to give sharon a win with Likud which didnt happen anyway. Bush could a said a million things without closing the door. In a final deal, allowing 100 Pals back into israel in a lottery would not hurt Israel one bit, nor would a land exchange for settlements that are impossible to eliminate. Money can change hands to buy and sell land. A million ways to defuse the situation. If parties are ready to make peace the plight of some settlers or some refugees will not get in the way. Mike
