An Uncle of mine..made it through The Bulge.. he was shattered by the experience most of his platoon was killed..he was but one of 3 to make it I remember watching Combat on TV with my brothers in the early 60's while he was over visiting... not wanting to tell us what to do..he would go 'hide' in the basement...the sounds of his retching..over powered the made for TV machine gun fire.. Once we 'woke up' to his suffering.. It never happened again..... Alcohol took him early.. One less good guy
