Scott, what resources do you use when deciding to buy convertibles instead of the common? I've read a little about the subject but still have not found any "formulas" to boil it down to something like the following: "the convertible has a 6% yield with 80% of the upside while only 30% of the downside. Also, how do you get the info on convertibles so you know how many shares they're convertible into (and therefore what the premium is), and how are these securities listed for quotes (Barron's, online service)? Finally, do these securities really act like they're supposed to (e..g, options frequently do not)? Thanks in advance.
