I'm not a big Rumsfeld fan. I think he is responsible for underestimating the resistance and the post war scenario. The needed troop strength etc. Then we have this sickening prisoner scandal. It does not look good at all.

I think we probably need about 200,000 total troops on the ground and about half of them should be international troops, and a quarter of the international troops should be from Arab countries.

Problem is that this still looks like an occupation...and the prison torture underlines that. We definitely need to put an international face on it...and we can't because Bush has flipped off the world, and the world is not eager to help Bush.

But back to the question at hand...fire Rummy? There's a good argument for it. But then it might not be all his fault either. Certainly he bears the responsibility for the minimal troop presence. But then Bush bears responsibility for screwing up the internationalization of the war. They're both responsible for entering into the war in this manner to begin with.

Gee it's a tough question. My answer would probably be fire Rummy, impeach Bush and kidnap Cheney.

I'm glad that November is coming up soon...then maybe we won't have to worry about them after this year.
