I remember every one of those travesties you enumerated. They did and do make me sick. And when My People commit mistakes of a highly offensive nature I am sicker. I hold Americans to a higher standard than I do citizens of other nations, just like I expect more from my children than I do from my neighbors. We have been and want to be the leaders of the free world. We are not supposed to stoop to the level of the barbarians we seek to embrace with democracy. When we grovel in the gutter we are in no position to elevate anyone anywhere. We have greatly embarrassed ourselves I fear and I am concerned about the consequences.

And no, Rumsfeld should not go.
