Be listens to its users, but must have been presented with a pretty fabulous offer and decided a greater installed base would better serve its community and better ensure its viability and success. For the BeOS to take off won't it need extensive support from developers? Of which many are controlled one way or another by Microsoft? What does BeOS do that OS/2 can't? And how popular is OS/2 on the desktop? Can Be run Java, or is Java built into the BeOS? As much as I'd like to see it, I have a hard time seeing another OS take off. Dirk, what do you think of Java as an OS? Do you see potential with it? Regards, Derek
