That make work out well for you, but what about the others?

What about them?

Is it all about you?

Indeed yes. It is all about me.

This is not the point. You are not the sole source of other's livelihood.

Neither do I wish to be.

As far as gold or silver accumulation, I cannot, by conscience, trade or own those metals.

Well I can. We each have to make the choices we think are best.

The mining of them is too destructive to the environment, and I am an environmentalist.

It doesn't have to be destructive. Hey, this reminds me of something that just happened not too long ago. I guess it's been like, I dunno five months? My fourteen year old is like this "big time" investor. So he hears about this little operation down in Peru. They have this claim wherein gold is established and sitting in the ground, a world-class deposit. The explorer's stock is trading for literal pennies, but there is a problem. A town is sitting right friggin' atop the deposit! Drama. Now I'm interested. So my boy wants to know what I think. I tell him to buy a little. I buy him about 10 or 20 thousand shares, which is nothing with these companies. The shares go up a lot, so my boy tells me to sell half for a very nice profit. Leftists just like you are trying hard to botch the whole thing, even attacking the mine and everything. Lovely stuff. Meetings are held, everything looks nice. The mining company is gonna move a part of the village and give the villagers new houses, running water, better lives. They are also gonna mine the area so that the environment is protected. Announcement is made that the folks on top of the mine are willing to move. The stock goes up, my boy sells into the upswing and makes a friggin' killing. I buy my boy's remaining shares, thinking it is pretty much a done deal and I'd be able to dig him a little bit on the profit. The company winds up losing the Peruvian claim and I end up dumping a handful of worthless shares. My boy's head is now the size of a friggin' Sherman tank. I'll never live it down. All because of you friggin' environmentalists! hehe.

I own no car and bike for my transportation, using mass transportation on long trips.

Good for you! I love a guy who lives his convictions. I seriously honor you. I have a lot of cars. I have a lot of kids. So some of my cars are like friggin' huge. I have a new Hummer, for example. I also have a fifteen passenger Ford van. My favorite car is an old Land Rover that I use when I go hunting. I also bop around in it when I go into town. My wife hates it. We call it the "Sweat Sock." I love it. I also have a luxury car that I take to work and stuff like that. It has a lot of stuff in it, a traveling office. I got a Beamer that I sometimes drive myself. But I am about to get rid of it. Don't know what I am gonna get next and haven't had time to look into it. Then there is my second to oldest kid. He just bought one of those goofy looking Priuses. That ought to make you at least a little happy.

I like to think of it as having integrity enough to walk my talk and less to stupidity or laziness.

You are right, and I am wrong. I wish I hadn't said that. So sorry. Please forgive.
