Explain how the US/Western Europe was threatned by Iraq. I'm all ears

Perhaps you should ask all the senators, including Levin, Feinstein, Daschle, Inouye, and John F. Kerry, who signed that letter to President Clinton in September 1998 that concluded, "In light of these developments, we urge you, after consulting with congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and the laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs."

(Yes, contrary to popular belief, the WMD term was not coined by Bush!)

Or perhaps you should ask the new government of Spain, whose instant reaction to the train bombings was to pull its troops out of Iraq. Sounds like they thought there was some kind of connection!

Or perhaps you should ask the UN, who kept feeling the need to pass resolution after resolution to address the "non-threat" of Iraq.

Or perhaps you should just take the thought to its logical conclusion, "if Iraq is no threat to us, then surely some wacko way off in Afghanistan must be harmless as well."
