From the Mory Eljabat interview (sounds like he's softened his stance, eh?):

CommWeek: Changing gears, have you resolved the problems with your
56-kilobit-per-second modem technology, and which modem standard will you support?

Ejabat: That has been totally resolved and we are in full production on the 56K product for the Max and TNT lines. It was a manufacturing and software problem. As for standards, right now we have the 56K Flex scheme, but we will support whatever standard emerges.

"....manufacturing AND software problem...."
What the hell else is there. Thats like saying you had car trouble, but it was ONLY the engine and transmission.
