one more thing...

In my eyes, the war on terror needs to be fought under cover, in the background; if the US truly intends to expand democracy then they should earn the respect of others and that is not going to happen dropping bombs at random like a modern rogue cowboy... if you so think, then I have no idea why is it that you see yourself as a lover of civility... all King George is doing is becoming a terrorist with a really big arsenal...

and we already know what such tactics lead to... just look at Palestinia and Israel.

I am not asking you to be weak, I agree, that at a certain point you must be firm and if necessary use force, but not in the way King George has proceeded, frankly he is just another brute of history...

you know the old saying walk softly and carry a [relly] big stick. [except that you really have to be intelligent to use it effectively]. under the current format, all you are doing is promoting more and more hate towards the US and the American people... unfortunately.

King George reminds me of....

General Millan Astray, founder of the Spanish Foreign Legion and one of the main Generals of fascist Generalisimo Francisco Franco during the Spanish Civil War (1936) "Down with intelligence ! " he cried in a famous confrontation with the philosopher Miguel de Unamuno, at the University of Salamanca, " Long Live Death ! "

And apparently... I am not alone as i discovered (to my surprise, I may add) in my search for Unamuno's response to the General I found this....

[quite fitting actually]

"To conquer is not to convince."

Unamuno's rebuttal to the general should serve as a reminder to the U.S. chief executive, his British counterpart and to Unamuno's fellow countryman José María Aznar. He went on to add: "To convince, persuasion is necessary. And to persuade, what is needed is what you lack: Reason and Right." This from a man who was a dedicated republican but supported a military uprising against the very republic he had helped to create, a man who had persuaded himself that a restoration of public order was necessary in a state he perceived as verging on anarchy, a man who had persuaded himself that the military could be trusted to uphold the goals of Spain's then fragile democracy. Unamuno understood too late that he had made an error in judgment, but had the courage to admit it. Following the tragic confrontation with the barbarian, Unamuno returned to his home never to emerge again. Two and a half months later, he passed away on the last day of 1936.

"At times, to be silent is to lie," Unamuno said. We should mark those words well. They are of far more value to the Christian or any other person of religious conviction than the words of the conquering general: "Long live death!"

A little pretentious from the writer apparently, as I take exception to the last paragraph since although I am not a religious person, however I give value to these words, certainly more than the general's...

as an aside... being non-religious or atheist, does NOT equate to being evil or barbaric...
