True enough, but if you think of the PA refugee camps as a sort of wound, the PA has made for a very poor patient. As I've said earlier, millions, perhaps hundreds of million have been donated to improving their plight, but the majority of the money lines the pockets of Arafat and his cronies. If I have a wound and do nothing to help it heal, then it only festers. If I have a wound and only pick at it, and add salt and dirt, then for sure it gets worse. Why aren't you passing some responsibility of the current situation on the PA leaders? And are you truly convinced that the PA leaderships agenda is not the destruction of Israel or at the very least the death of all jews in the ME.
Yes, there is no question that Arafat is corrupt but he has the ear of his people. Sharon is up on corruption charges and yet he too has the ear of his people. What did you think this long lived, ongoing nightmare would create........a couple of Abraham Lincolns? You don't often find diamonds in cow manure.

I find it abhorrent that the PA leadership and its people celebrate the murder of children, oh I'm sorry, I mean the attack on children. You know, Hamas described the killing of three children last week, two in their car seats at the time, as an act of heroism. A society or group of people that celebrates and wishes for its people to emulate that sort of action is .... I don't know what, subhuman, Hitlerian. A modern day political leadership that wishes for its society to celebrate the point blank murder of children, that as well, employs children for suicide missions (of the mentally disabled kind), imo, is dysfunctional. I'm sorry, but when you say they have no other options, that's too simplistic. They do have other options. Choosing as your option suicide, murder of children, maintaining a society of squalar, if anything doing everything to make the situation worse, are shallow minded options, and I think, serve an agenda that has the destruction of Israel as its goal, not peace.
It does not appear that adolescents have the privileged status in the Muslim world that they have here. But it wasn't long ago that adolescents and even children were treated like nothing more than indentured slaves in these united states. They were considered expendable and we bred like rabbits to insure we had enough. Apparently, it takes some time and enlightenment for civilizations to respect the life of all its citizens.
Having said that, why should this be the reason that the Palestinians can not have their freedom? We were an independent nation when we were hanging black people from trees. Why were we entitled to our independence even though we manifested bad behavior and the Palestinians are not allowed the same largesse? |
