The rightwingers are strangely silent this weekend.
This may be a "liberal bashing thread" but the fact is that Kerry and the majority of his followers are not liberals. They're centrists with a variety of leanings, from moderate conservatives to liberal, not the Howard Dean crowd.

Of course we want liberals to vote for Kerry (so long as Nader fails or drops out) but they are not the ones who nonminated Kerry. And Kerry himself is not liberal at least on fiscal and defense matters.

Democrats are tin some ways he conservative ones now, along with concerned honest moderate conservatives like McCain and Kemp. The economic radicals handing out huge chunks of corporate, upper-class and overseas welfare are the neocons.

What really matters in this election is truth, fairness and honesty versus fiction, exploitation and manipulation. On that score, the Kerry centrist progressives win by a landslide.

These torture atrocities will certainly be a big reason why many Bush-disliking moderate Republicans will now vote for Kerry, or stay home in November.
