Actually, that's one of your best posts, at least until the last paragraph.

Polls show that 70% feel Rumsfield should not resign. I'm not condoning the treatment but the American people are pretty good in putting things in perspective.

As I posted before, the world, particularly those who tend to coddle the terrorists, are treating this as somehow worse than what happened to those American contractors in Falujah. Now that was an atrocity.

We're in Iraq to help, not for conquest. You may disagree with the war and even claim that we were misled, but the fact is that Iraq is better off without Saddam.

I do agree that Kerry has a centrist backing. He's made some progress in coming out with some real proposals, e.g., corporate tax and general tax areas.

He ought to get out of the attack mode. He quickly jumped on this Rumsfeld thing and I think he comes off looking like an opportunist. Add that to the "not my SUV", "ribbon not medal, medal is ribbon, but it isn't," etc., and he could still blow it.
