Kerry has been trying hard to stay on the issues. He knows that if real issues are debated, he wins hands down, and not just because he's a better debater. The Bushies have been trying hard to avoid all issues and wage character attacks going back 35 years. The same old "liberal big spender weak on defense" which doesn't apply to Kerry. As for dirt throwing, the Bushies claim Dems started it but that's a lie. The Bushies started the entire game going back to their rightwing radio disinformation campaigns. They also ussed and abused the tragedy of 9-11 to try and brand Dems as traitors and unpatriotic wimps. What goes around comes around. The Bushies can dish it out but can't take it. Unfortunately for them, facts are now on the side of the Kerry folks. On every single issue, Kerry has Bush beat in any fair rational debate.
