IMO, to begin with, the terrorists are looney tunes to even think about starting a war with us. Look at the resources that we have and look at the resources they have.

However, I think (who in hell really knows) they want someone like a Rumsfeld to respond in a predictable fashion (very agressive) to inflame the passions of lethargic Arabs sitting around praying. In other words, to drive the uncommited into their camp.

If they replaced Rumsfeld with a Colin Powell type, and Powell was able to put a wedge in between Arab moderates and their lunatic fringe, would the terrorists be better off?
