I actually had two rounds of virus problems. I got up May 1 to see a Norton alert on the screen. I wasn't even online, so wondered what was going on. I soon discovered I had the Mayday virus. I probably got it sometime before and it just starts up on May 1. That one wasn't too tough to get rid off. The next one "W32.Gabot.A" was after reformatting, I only did one hard drive and I think I must have had this on my other hard drive. This one really wreaked havoc with my system. I couldn't even access Symantec site to find info or removal tool. I decided since I had just reformatted, and the system was basically empty except for the OS to just wipe everything clean and start over. That solved the problem. I like to reformat every six months or so anyway and was overdue but I didn't plan on doing it this many times :-). As I said in the other post I'm overly paranoid when it comes to virus threats. I delete most emails I get and keep software up to date, but these two snuck up on me somehow. I know people that either don't have any virus software or never do the updates, and don't get viruses, go figure.
