Hi Elmat - My experiences with a number of Iranians and a few Turks here in Silicon Valley leads me to believe they don't fit into your stereotype of returning to 700.

Of course, I may have proved your point by picking one of the more secular nations and one that wants to be secular again.

If your view is correct, then most Islamic natins will not be able to have sucessful democracies and market economies.

Even the neo-cons have better opinion of human potential of the Muslim world.
