For those who don't know, the original ARAMCO partners who had their assets nationalized by the Saudis in 1976 are Exxon, Mobil, Chevron and Texaco. Together with Shell and BP they were collectively known in the oil business as the "Seven Sisters."

Of course these companies are now ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, Shell and BP.

Chevron and Texaco originally discovered the Saudi fields between 1933 and 1938 operating as the Arab-American Oil Company. Exxon and Mobil were later brought in to provide additional capital.
