As for storage speed not mattering, you are wrong. When you try to copy 100Mb, it can take a long time. One reason CD-R is not a threat to the Zip and Jaz drives is that it can take hours to record a CD.

As for power usage and suitability for notebooks, Iomega has shown (at PC Expo) a 15mm Zip notebook drive. MKE says it will not have a notebook size LS-120 until first half 97. This is not too surprising since they can't yet manufacture the full size LS-120.

Finally, Zip disks cannot become a commodity unless everyone can make them and drive the price down. Are you aware of Iomeg's patent situation?
