But we cannot become embroiled in Arab and Iraqi negotiating techniques.

We have a deadline coming up after which Iraqis are supposed to govern themselves. It seems to me that the priority now is facilitating that self-government. I've been wondering all along if the dance going on hasn't been about getting them to take care of the matter themselves and in their own way in preparation for the take-over. If that's what's going on, then it's a wise thing, IMO. Perhaps in this process we can identify suitable leaders to carry on.

I am becoming concerned about sounding like a war nut.

Perhaps we've reached the point where it isn't "about war" any more. Nor "about us."
