John,
Both sides want peace -- on their terms. Both sides obviously think they are in the right. One side uses suicide bombings. The other side makes extra-judicial killings of people who live within territory over which they are the sovereign power. This is known as murder in the civilized world.

I don't call attention to these points in order to condemn one side and praise the other, or vice-versa.

I make one and one point only: it is in the INTEREST OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE to stay out of these quarrels.
