It is their job to go after him when he appears to be telling less than the truth, since we are allegedly living in an open society in which our politicians are accountable to us.

Funny... you're willing to criticize others for being evasive, as well as apparently "guessing" (although a very educated and logical one) that Saddam had WMDs, but you're upset when someone accuses you of being evasive and "guessing" (without any credible evidence) that Saddam didn't possess them..

I find that rather ironic.
