I think Eisner is gunshy. The guy is under pressure by certain shareholder groups, and he may have decided the film may be a lightning rod for criticism.

But that's only speculation on my part.

What I do find interesting is that Moore knew a year ago that Disney and/or Miramax were declining to distribute the film. In typical Michael More blowhard fashion, he trumped up a story that Disney was holding off on distributing the film in fear of Jeb Bush and losing tax credits in the state of Florida. Bunk. He was just after some free publicity, which he got.
