Yes, it's easy for many of us to dismiss ideas that do not conform to our beliefs. If we can't dismiss the logic of the ides then we need only dismiss the speaker as one who should not be taken seriously.

It amazes me how many of the right-wing, many of them religious, can dismiss whole fields of thought as not worthy of belief because they come from "tainted sources."

That is not, ever, a sign of intelligence or rationality; it is a sign of intellectual weakness and close mindedness.

You've had 7 years of the best post high-school education this country can offer and the best rebuttal you can make to Moore's articulate defense of his position is; Michael Moore doesn't have any credibility with me to begin with, so it's not just easy to dismiss what he says, it's automatic?

I fear we may have wasted a few tax dollars training you to be one of the legal minds that protects our rights.
