New names for sure, but no new insights, consensus or progress toward solutions, alas.

People and politicians used to talk about the virtues of uniting to make the world a better place. Now it's "The nation must come together to support my partisan cause in the face of our evil enemy, you know who they are, THEM OVER THERE!!!!!"

It's effective demogaguery applicable to most domestic and foreign issues. Certainly gets a workout on SI.
