Yes, that has been my impression also Ray, and Searle, that last post of yours burned. I just don't know what to think because much of what you say rings true, however, with the ever present "but". And you have heard it all. All the buts ever spoken, so it is senseless for me to repeat them.

I do detect a slight anger and pragmatism in your post which is consistent since we began. I don't know if it is a disdain for the concept of gold as an exchange medium, or the recognition and acceptance of all the B.S. surrounding the fiat dollar and its inherent dishonesty that elicits your strong statements.

Sometimes, you argue against yourself (your own admission), so how can a mere mortal like I make any sense of it?

You say gold is propped up....maybe it is propped down <g>? But for sure as you say, they can "jack it up or down to satisfy their monetary needs."
