We had a lot of the same construction problems in Seattle...not really roof leaks that were the problem, but problems due to the use of the synthetic stucco material, Dry-Vit. I still see buildings being resided, all over town, and it often costs more to solve the problem than it did to build the whole building originally.

I was in Vancouver a few weeks ago, they are still building an amazing number of downtown units. People are having to get a number to buy in these new projects, and I was told they sell out the day the come on the market.

Speaking of Seattle real estate, homes are again receiving multiple bids. There was a story in the Sunday paper of a small bungalow that was priced in the high $300,000's and sold immediately at over a $100,000 above the ask.
