I disagree with your interpretation of that provision as it relates to the wife of a suspected insurgent.

But in any event, if your interpretation is correct, and that is how the US is interpreting it, then as between the United States and the insurgents, I am on the side of the insurgents. I cannot side with a regime that treats people in such a morally reprehensible manner. It is a small step from using your wife to break you down, to using your son or daughter.
