Pure political assessment: Does firing Rumsfeld today help or hurt Bush's election chances? +10 - Brilliant. Kerry will never be able to recover from this excellent move. 0 - no change one way or the other. -10 - Give up, you're done for. Give some other Republican a chance in November. I give it -2. Makes Bush look weak, out of control. And he loses the advise of an excellent man.
