TP, Dual core reduces the traffic on external busses in the Intel design, but dual core eliminates the traffic on the bus in the AMD design.

OK, I see what you are getting at, but in the Intel design, you can speed up the external bus now that you've gone from two to one physical processor.

Either way, there is a substantial benefit to dual-core even for Intel. This isn't "marketecture" with no real performance benefit. Instead, it's an engineering no-brainer.
