you know, I was talking to a recent california resident on recovery employment about a week ago. It is nice that Cisco plans to hire 1K staff, MOST of which are in the US (implies NOT ALL)- but other recoveries with far less earnings power resulted in 10x this job growth.

Cisco hiring 1000, Google hiring less than two hundred, and salesforce.com hiring TWO new employees in the USA. This is not a recipe for a 90s recovery, no way. In 1993, pre bubble, Silicon Graphics was hiring 2-3K PER YEAR, Oracle was hiring 400 new college grads PER YEAR, etc. just to put it in perspective, and these were smaller companies than Cisco now. And since capex is related to employment we probably won't get really strong capex growth either.
