Return to profit and more business from China
The Financial Post reports in a Canadian Press dispatch Wednesday that Trojan Technologies reported a small profit in the first quarter as a 7-per-cent jump in revenue linked to a U.S. acquisition helped reverse a big loss last year. The unbylined item says the London, Ont., water treatment company earned $1-million (five cents a share) for the three months ended March 31. That compared with a loss of $7.1-million (32 cents) in the same period the previous year, when the company took a $9.5-million charge because of a failed deal in Europe. Revenue for the latest quarter grew 7 per cent to $28.5-million from $26.6-million. Trojan also said it had been awarded a contract worth more than $1.1-million for its ultraviolet water treatment system to be installed at a municipal waste
water plant in Hangzhou, China.
