There are some questions about whether the US military/FBI failed to help him get out of iraq. They got him released from iraqi arrest in Mosul and then he was on his own going from iraq to jordan when captured. Please let this rumor be false.
No one knows why he was arrested by iraqi forces who apparently didnt believe him to be american. I wonder if it was the beard, the style of which i have seen on islamic militants. Mike
