I beg to differ. Here's a quote from Hamas's late leader. "Make no mistake, there will be no peace as long as there is a Zionist-Jewish state. Our holy goal is to liberate all of Palestine, and if the Jews do not go, they will die. All of Palestine is Islamic land -- every inch."

You say there is little analogous between AQ and Hamas, hmmmm I find that curious. Both enjoy mass murder, hmmm neither is interested in any sort of negotiations. Both enjoy very much to kill Jews... Of course, AQ had leg up with killing Americans, but who knows, there are jews in America and Hamas has hinted at chasing them down here.
