I have been chatting with john, but i will bring this public. If bush wont fire rummy, let him have cheney not run for medical reasons and pick rudy. And even go one step further and rudy pledge not to run for pres in 08 if deemed necessary. A united front ticket--social liberal, strong on defense, urban legend added to religous conservative, cowboy but also strong on defense. Kerry was very very good on imus today as he moves toward the center in subtle fashion. Without bold moves bush will lose imho, regardless of the overconfidence exhibited on this thread. Bush may have needed cheney, rummy, ashcroft for both competence and ideological reasons in Term 1. They are not needed for ideology anymore--we know bush is a conservative. As far as competence goes, iraq has thrown that in question for all three. So give Ted Kennedy some sleepless nites and give em Rudy. Do you think conservatvies can get over their hubris and win won for the USA. Hell Reagan understood this when he selected GHWB as his VP. JFK realized this when he selected LBJ.
