Who said I was "perfectly comfortable"? Obviously, it is a hideous choice to have made. If I believed, as you do, that it was not warranted by an assessment of the situation, I would be against it, as you are. I have become convinced, though, that it was based on the best assessment of the available options, and that it saved more lives, including those of Japanese civilians, than it took.
