I was just trying to cover all the bases, I figured you'd done this but it sounded like it could possibly be a virus still screwing things up. One of the things viruses do is cause things to go whacky and not work right. Some viruses like the one I just had either disable your virus software or make it shut down before it can complete a scan. I went to several sites like PCPitstop, Mcafee, Symantec and used the free scans. Most of these though came back clean when in fact I was still infected. Others would scan up to a certain point usually the first infected file they scanned and shut down. The first thing to do if you get another virus alert is write down the name of the virus, and each file where it was found. Then you know what your dealing with as far as removal tools, and where to find it. I hope you don't have a virus still and like others have said it's probably one of those cases we've all had where something was tweaked wrong, or possible a corrupt file. I know the feeling this is one of those hair pullers. It's like taking your car to the mechanic and it won't make the noise there but when you drive off it starts again. One thing in your favor, your in good hands here. Not me, but all the people on this board. I've come here many times over the years and have always gotten help. There's not many places left where people give of their time for free and try their best to help others.
