Do they really have to die. Have you ever been to a 4h beef auction with the well groomed cows with thier pleading eyes (with long upcurled eyelashes). With the crowd referring to them as quarters and halfs. Then think of garden burgers. No Ecoli to worry about, low fat and no animal had to give up life for you to put it in a bun. You can even cook them in your toaster. Not really a " big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat" but they grow on you.
