So what is it that you think makes OBL so clever?

Its not hard to be clever when your opponent comes charging in like a bull in a china closet.

You don't think he uses our own sentiments
and very public display of hand-wringing against us?

Yeah, he does whatever he needs to do.....so do we. There is no big news there.

Perhaps if we spent more time being outraged
by their behavior than falling into THEIR trap of
blaming ourselves for everything, we would be far more successful in abating terrorism.

Who do you think is not outraged by Nick Berg's beheading? The whole world is.....including Muslims. Iraqis in the street are appalled. It was beyond horrific. The whole world thinks that. Who is telling you otherwise? Sean Hannity? Ann Coulter?

There have been tons and tons of people outraged by 9/11 How successful have we been to date in Iraq? Have we caught OBL yet in Afghanistan? It looks to me like you're grasping at straws. Outrage doesn't lead to success; intelligent and well planned maneuvering does. You're an attorney; you should know that.

The outrage I'm referring to concerns putting things into perspective.

What perspective? I saw your perspective on that other thread. Its very uniquely yours and your cohorts over there.

There has not nearly been the "outrage" over Arab atrocities as over the prison abuse scandal.
Whether outrage per se leads to success is beside the point.
It's a matter of how we deal with, and talk about, these issues.

How in the hell do you measure that? Did Fox News tell you or was it the NRO or the NY Post? The world could fall over and weep for days and you all would never be satisfied. America never ever gets the respect you all thinks it deserves.

So tell us......what would make you all happy? What does the world have to do to convince you that it is appalled?

The prevailing sentiment I'm hearing from you and
the media is that we've brought all of this on ourselves
and we are the only ones to blame.

You hear what you want to hear........by now, that's very clear. And even when you don't hear it, you make sure you do. Its a very clever way of being.

That's exactly what the terrorists want you to believe and that's exactly what they rely on for their purposes.

Dang! You think you are the only ones smart enough to see through the terrorists and the rest of us are simply sheep being led to the slaughter. Well lady, you're the one who doesn't have it straight but you are so blinded by your biases, you can't see the forest for the trees.

They are definitely smarter in this area. They must be chortling up their sleeves.

They are chortling because we walked right into a hornet's nest. They are chortling because our gov't makes one mistake after another in Iraq. They are chortling because Rumsfeld refused to listen to his generals who told him they needed 200k men on the ground......at least. They are chortling because Rumsfeld, Cheney and Bush refused to look at the 13 volume document prepared by the Pentagon that discusses the rebuilding of Iraq after the war was fought. They are chortling because Rumsfeld told his Iraqi generals not to disarm the militias that were armed and running around for the past year.

And yet, you buttheads, blame us for the mess. Get a clue, genius! And get it fast! We are in big trouble in Iraq!
