I honestly think that most people are absolutely repulsed and horrified by atrocity. I don't think it's racial and I do think that actually seeing these atrocities greatly increase our intolerance for violence. That is why I have been a strong advocate of removing the selective barriers that prevent us from seeing what is taking place. I don't recall one news outlet in America running pictures of the genocide in Aceh.....not one. Out of sight out of mind. M
