I don't have enough data yet to reach a definite conclusion. However, having watched the video, I was impressed that the cameraman seemed to be able to blur everything to the point of useless unrecognizable pixelation at just the time when I'd have been most interested in seeing the actual moment when systolic pressure was relieved. Anyone familiar with bloodletting would be expecting quite a bit more blood to have spurted and then flowed from the wound. Bottom line? The tape looked faked to me.

I'd love to have a native Arabic speaker comment on the statement that was read by the man ostensibly announcing himself as the purported al Qaeda terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. From the fragments I've seen translated and published, it sounds like the kind of rhetoric that a bad screenwriter in an agency black ops' "public diplomacy" scam would concoct. Something written for the American audience, not the Islamic militants.
