!!!!! I got the router hooked up and the wife is now the proud owner of a DSL connection;-)

Here is a bit of advice. If you have Bellsouth as your DSL provider then the directions on the Linksys will not work. .Luckily, yesterday, I contacted Bellsouth and asked them for a ISP number. Anyway, the person told me they could not help me because I wasn't buying a network connection from them. But he/she was very nice and provided me with a website with detail instructions on how to hook up my Linksys router.
IF I HADN'T HAD THOSE INSTRUCTIONS I COULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THIS THING HOOKED UP!

But, all is well.

Also, one disappointment. I ordered a router and a NIC card from Linksys and I was supposed to get a rebate card or something. Neither of the packages I recieved had a rebate form or anything so in the end I paid more than I thought I would pay. But, I learned long ago most rebates are a fraud anyhow and you seldom get them.

thanks for all the help from everyone!!!!!!!!!
