"NO WONDER Europeans laugh at us..." When was the last time you bought a plane ticket for travel inside Europe?? I was recently at a United ticket counter where some Germans were purchasing coast to coast tickets -- they were certain that the ticket agent was totally off base because apparently it is about the same price to fly from San Francisco to New York City (about 2500 miles) as from Hamburg to Berlin (about 250 miles). I was so surprised to hear this that I went back and accessed the Lufthansa website and was interested to find that it is in fact true.
