It's about time that Friedman took W at his word. W is a war president. He's never going to change.

Friedman is entitled to some special sense of betrayal, though, since the war propagandists adapted his "democracy domino" theory when it seemed convenient but never actually went beyond lip service on that front. It's far from clear that they ever actually believed in it, anyway.
