LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Reuters) - Accused by Republicans of politicizing the war in Iraq (news - web sites), Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) shot back on Thursday by questioning President Bush (news - web sites)'s commitment to veterans' health benefits.

Kerry praised the sacrifice of Vietnam War veterans like himself as he attacked Bush, who spent the war in the Texas Air National Guard, for ignoring the rising cost of health care.

Citing his military experience and "sense of moral justice," Kerry said: "I will see to it that the first definition of patriotism in America is not talking about it, not wrapping yourself in the flag, it is keeping faith with those who wore the uniform of our country."
