I think Kerry may have pushed his first Pruple Heart, since he probably wanted to get one. Big deal. They give out Purple Hearts like merit badges for Boy Scouts, any injury suffered in combat qualifies. My dad got one in WWII for a piece of shrapnel in his ass probably no more severe than John Kerry's, and he didn't ask for it. It was just SOP. If you get your legs blown off, you get one too.
What was Bush doing while Kerry was where he really could get killed? He was drinkin', druggin', chasing tail, avoiding Vietnam AND National Guard duty, 10,000 miles from the nearest enemy fire.
I heard a Republican pundit deal with these facts this way; when Bush turned forty, he gave up drinking and was "born again", so everything prior to that is irrelavent. I guess since Kerry hasn't been "born again" (thank God!), HE's responsible for his youthful behavior!
President Bush reminds me of Jimmy Swaggart.
