After reading all i can on the bergs it seems both father and son are socially very liberal Jews who believe that Jews have a responsibility to make the world a better place thru acts of kindness. They may differ on politics in the sense that Nick may have thought iraqi liberation by american to be worthwile in the idealistic sense, while the father may view it as american imperialism but it doesnt change the fact that both were bleeding heart do-gooders in the best sense of the words. We do need folks in the world who care about things greater than their portfolios.
That would put them on the left both here and in Israel. None of this takes away from the fact that in their own way they are devout, if not orthodox, jews. Nick's next stop was to be Kenya. The US govt has declared the Moussawi thing to be purely cooincental and at this point, all i will say is that we should let Nick rest in peace and wish his family the best. mike
