An expense at exercise approach would have techland even more up in arms. And that would really* penalize those IPOs of yours.* Well, I don't know. I never liked black scholes and virtually everyone I know left options on the table only to lose whatever value they once had in the 90s. I think that real world experience is why folks are opposed to BS. If BS gelled with their own experience it would be fine. BTW the tech lobby are not "my buddies". Even Dan Gilmore in the San Jose paper has voiced opposition to these clowns. They speak for themselves only. The real howler was when the tech lobby took a stance in congress about how IP rights in China should be issue #1 for US leaders, like some unemployed autoworker or programmer is really going to give a damn? They live in an alternate universe.
