McCain could be Zell Miller Lite, don't count it out.
Privately, McCain really detests Bush-Cheney and has not forgiven them for slandering him in South Carolina. McCain is also close friends with Kerry. Kerry doesn't need McCain to win, but if Zell Miller can totally trash and bash his own own party (calling Kerry an ultra-left liberal from Taxachusetts who will trash our national defense) why can't McCain go against Bush?

BTW: Zell Miller's charges are ridiculously unrealistic. Every Kerry policy is moderate, he's strong and smart on defense and "Taxachusetts" went out 20 years ago. His running mate is also likely to be a non liberal.

Massachusetts has had GOP governors for the past 12 years and the taxes there are not abusive. Furthermore, Kerry has nothing to do with local Massachusetts taxes and has pledged not to raise taxes on 98% of Americans despite our dire need to raise revenues to pay off Bush deficits.
