the problem with this whole options argument is that the approach for expensing needs to work for the entire market and most investors are really only concerned about a few stocks. BS falls apart on the really speculative issues like Juniper and RHAT. Sure it works for Cisco, all in all a pretty lethargic stock. Thats the issue to me. I am always following the "hot stocks" or working at the hot companies, or I try to anyway. Of course in the 90s everybody was hot so tech staff in general feels most options expire worthless. I don't doubt that BS works in the general and not the special cases, but those special cases are probably first on everyone's mind. We don't want to penalize the Amazons, Junipers and Red Hats of the world.
